We still have 6 permanent bucks at stud, even though I've now sold WHG Stingers Eclipse.  I replaced them with Heaven Sent Davinci aka Vinny thanks to Friday Creek Farm and I've added MADI'S Smoke on the Water from Dust Devil Ranch. I am continuing with spots with my homebred Summitview Bene Factor my own son of ZOE Perfect Benediction and have retained a black paint son of Eclipse, Summitview Night Stalker.  MFF Spots Rock has pretty much completed his second season of breeding for me and is looking for a new home. Cracker Jack Black, my own son of HBG Black Jack Black moves up the Stud line-up while Summitview Rock's Rough Nut will take the place of his sire Spots Rock when he sells unless he himself is sold.
I never thought I'd have a traditional buck in my line up after the sale of Auto, but yet here I am with 6 traditionals!  I am trying to get some solid strong frames under my goats and building up color from there! It should be a very exciting winter!!

About Us
My goal is to raise breeding stock with the following characteristics:  healthy, strong, disease free, excellent maternal instincts, ability to pack on & carry meat & eye popping color. I am retaining doelings that fit these criteria, that add the good "show" genetics of my sires and I will slowly weed out the foundation does, especially those with the white bodies.  I will be focusing on raising goats with the South Afrian Boer Goat standards conformation that may or may not succeed in the show ring as that is not my main focus, but you will see me there with at least my bucks that ARE show quality.

My winter 2010-2011 kidding season went very well, I lost only 4 kids, two during kidding and two shortly after.

I  have a lot to be excited for and have come so far in such a short time. I have learned alot, both good and bad throught this past year. I have met some outstanding people and some life long friends.

I am very  excited for the new year.

Summitview Boers wishes you and your family a great winter!

And may good-luck be with you and all your "kids".

I hope to do business with you soon.

Sincerely,

Krystal R. Clemmons

Summitview Boers is a goat breeding operation located in Cowiche, Washington just minutes from Yakima.  I started raising goats in 2004, but really didn't get serious about it until 2006.  I have 76 goats on my place and am currently awaiting kidding!  I have 28 adult does and around 35 does due to kid for the first time 2012. I have at stud 11 bucks 4 of which I have bred. I currently do not have any meat wethers, just our farm mascot, Sir the 9 year old wether.

How I Feel About CL

I take pride in purchasing and raising healthy and disease free animals.  Any new animal purchased is quarantined and tested for CAE, CL & Johne's.   After much deliberation I have decided to start vaccinating for CL.  My goats received their first shot November 2008.   This disease is contagious to people.  It can be brought in on shoes from people coming to your place  and it is extremely hard to kill.  It can survive past negative zero and way above one-hundred degrees, so I am not taking any chances.  This disease could ruin all I have invested.  I live right off a main road and have strangers stopping in weekly looking for meat goats. I have chosen to protect my herd from this disease, I am not "covering up" something I've had.  We vaccinate our human children to protect them from disease and illness and I have chosen to protect my goats from the things I can also.
I want to make it clear since I have had some questions about my decision to vaccinate. I vaccinate because I CHOOSE to. Not because I have or have had CL and have to. My herd is CL negative and will remain so.  As a side note, if you purchase a goat from me, and test it for CL there is a chance that it will test positive for the disease though I haven't had any of my vaccinated animals test positive. Talk to your vet, the "titers" will reflect vaccine exposure.  I encourage you to discuss this and read about this before being alarmed.  This decision did take me 4 years to make and now I am not sure why it took me so long to decide to do. Now it's a no brainer.
